A group of over 60 senior PR professionals form teams of two to judge each entry in their specialist category and select the shortlist. All judges sign a confidentiality agreement before judging commences and a replacement judge is sourced if any conflicts of interest arise. After a consultation with the CIPR Board and the Chairs of Judges, the second stage of the Excellence Awards judging process has changed. Following entrants’ feedback on cost and time implications, and keeping in line with a fast-moving industry, we have replaced the panel interviews with one judging day. The judging day will see all judges come together, working in groups to review the shortlist in each category and determine the winners. The Outstanding Young Communicator and the Outstanding Independent Practitioner shortlists will be invited to attend a 20-minute panel interview in London. This is your opportunity to update the judges on your submission and for them to delve deeper into the intricacies of your entry.
