Based in the UK, James Puxty is the Head of Incident Communications at Nationwide Building Society. James joined the ‘world’s largest building society’ in October 2016, having formerly served as the Communications Director at the FTSE listed Unite Group.

James is responsible for communicating with Nationwide’s 15 million customers and across the business during major change and incidents, and is based within its Business Continuity and Incident management unit.

James has extensive experience in strategic and tactical communication, issues management, media relations and public affairs; gained in major and complex organisations, in the private, public and third sectors, covering business-to-business and business-to-consumer audiences.

He has led teams in the UK, across mainland Europe and China, and has previously held senior communications and leadership roles at St. Gobain, E.ON, Lloyds Banking Group, NEC Group, the police service and with the leading veterinary charity, PDSA.
